A Trip Back Home.
The trip was set and all planned out. I was leaving to go pick up my daughter and grandchildren to make a week long vacation to see my parents. It would be my first time back to see my parents since "THE" picture that started this all was taken. We had a wonderful trip. I am reminded why I "needed" to take my health back each time I see them. As my Mom sat holding her great grandchild as he slept, I thought, I want to be able to do that one day. I want to live long enough to not only see them, but to play with them.
Later that night as she sat on the couch filling her medication pill boxes I just watched her. I saw this women who was once young and energetic. She was full of life. But, at some point she gave up on her health. I often wonder what happened to flip the switch to cause her to give up on herself. I feel that we all come to a point in our lives that we have to make this very decision. We each have to rise up and say this generational curse of sickness has to end. We have to look back long enough to see where we don't want to go in the future. I encourage you to take a look at your own life and your own future and decide how you want to live your life. Do you want to live or just exist?
